What We Believe
The Bible: We believe that the Bible is God’s word to all men, and the final authority in all matters pertaining to Christian faith and practice. Because it is “God-breathed”, it is truth without any mixture of error. God's inspired and inerrant Word is sufficient for eternal salvation and guidance in the Christian life.
God: We believe there is only one living and true God - who is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Humanity: We believe that human beings were created by God in His image. We have alienated ourselves from God by an attitude of disobedience called sin and are therefore in need of salvation.
Jesus Christ: We believe that God became man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is both completely divine and completely human. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to defeat death and bring eternal life. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as the third person of the Trinity. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to submit to his control daily.
Salvation & Eternal Life: We believe that through the gift of Jesus' death and resurrection on the cross our rebellion can be forgiven and reconciliation with God procured. We receive this gift of salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith. Those who follow Jesus will live with him forever, whereas those who reject Jesus will suffer eternal punishment.
Ordinances: We believe that both Baptism and The Lord's Supper are visible signs of the realities of salvation. We are commanded to observe them, but we do not depend on them for salvation.
Last Things: We believe that Christ will return at God's appointed time.
