Our History
In 1997, several families begin praying for the Lord’s will and direction concerning their church allegiance. They met on Thursday evenings for prayer and fellowship. God led a pastor to come and lead them in Bible Study and prayer. After a time, they came to believe that God intended them to step out in faith to start what is now called Adirondack Baptist Church. In 1998 a new independent Baptist church was officially established in Fulton County.
Initially meeting in homes, the young church soon rented facilities at Sacandaga Bible Conference, then moved to the former Methodist church building in downtown Gloversville, After prayerful consideration, the church purchased the land at its present location, and constructed its first building. Adirondack Baptist Church moved into its new building in April 2001, and called their first pastor in June of that year. In January 2013, Pastor Nathan Petersen was called by the church to be senior pastor.
